About Dan

DanCamCom is the latest chapter of my professional writing career. It’s me leading a network of trusted writers and other creative professionals using our collective experience to develop engaging written, social media and multimedia content. It involves freelance writing assignments for media outlets and niche publications. It also means working with businesses and organizations on their voice and message to support their specific needs and goals.

What kind of relationship do I have with words? For nearly a decade I worked in newspapers as a reporter and editor under daily deadlines. Name a topic and I’ve probably written about it. Since 2010, the focus has been on building this communications business for myself and others who live in the freelance and self-employed worlds.

In that time, I’ve had hundreds of bylines published in newspapers, online news sites and magazines, while also working with businesses – big and small, national and local – on their blogs, social media strategy and other communications needs. My years as a reporter also give me unique perspectives in training sessions to help others understand the current media landscape. The ability to provide opportunities to fellow writers, photographers and designers along the way continues to be a fulfilling part of all this.
